ANALYSIS OF FACTORS IN PREGNANT WOMEN ASSOCIATED WITH CHRONIC ENERGY DEFICIENCY IN SLEMAN YOGYAKARTA

Bacground : : Chronic Energy Deficiency in pregnant women is a condition of the mother lacking protein and
energy intake during pregnancy which results in health problems in the mother and fetus. Purpose: The purpose
of this study was to analyze the factors of pregnant women experiencing chronic energy deficiency in Sleman
Yogyakarta. Method: The design of this study is an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The
population in this study was all pregnant women All pregnant women in the Glondong Mlati area, Sleman,
Yogyakarta amounted to 30 people. The sample technique used in this study was total sampling. The research
instrument used questionnaires. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi Square test. Results
of 30 pregnant women, who experienced chronic energy deficiency by 33.3%, the majority of pregnancy distances
of >2 years amounted to 66.7%, family income >UMR amounted to 56.7%, with sufficient knowledge level of
56.7% and did not have infectious diseases by 76.7%. There was a significant association between pregnancy
spacing, parity, income, knowledge and infectious disease p-value 0.000 (<0.05) and chronic energy deficiency in
pregnant women. Conclusion: There is a meaningful relationship between pregnancy spacing, parity, income,
knowledge and infectious diseases with chronic energy deficiency. It is expected for health workers to further
improve in providing education or health education and be more innovative in providing counseling on nutrition
for pregnant women.
