Peer Review Process
PEER REVIEW PROCESS
The peer review process at Jurnal Permata Indonesia follows these sequential steps:
- Manuscript Submission
Author submits the manuscript through the OJS (Online Journal System) platform. - Initial Editorial Screening
The editorial team conducts an initial check to ensure the manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope, and complies with formatting guidelines.
Decision: Proceed to review / Return for correction / Desk rejection. - Plagiarism Check
The manuscript is checked for plagiarism using Turnitin or other plagiarism detection tools.
Threshold: Maximum similarity index allowed is 25%. - Reviewer Assignment
The manuscript is assigned to at least two independent peer reviewers under a double-blind review system (both authors and reviewers remain anonymous). - Peer Review Process
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on scientific merit, originality, clarity, methodology, and relevance.
Review duration: Typically 2–4 weeks.
Recommendations: Accept / Minor Revision / Major Revision / Reject. - Editorial Decision Based on Reviews
The editor considers reviewer comments and issues a decision: Accepted, Revision required (minor or major), or Rejected. - Author Revision
If revisions are requested, the author must revise and resubmit the manuscript within a specified time frame (typically 1–2 weeks for minor, 2–4 weeks for major revisions). - Second Review (if applicable)
For major revisions, the manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for a second evaluation. - Final Editorial Decision
Editor makes the final decision: Accept / Reject / Accept with minor edits. - Copyediting and Proofreading
Accepted manuscripts undergo language editing, formatting, and proofreading to ensure consistency and quality. - Galley Proof Approval
Authors review and approve the final layout before publication. - Publication
The final version is published online in the designated issue.
All submitted manuscripts are treated confidentially. The editorial team reserves the right to reject submissions that do not meet the journal’s academic standards or ethical guidelines.
