Abstract

Background: Anemia is a condition in which hemoglobin levels in the body are less than normal.  Lack of nutritional education knowledge causes errors in food selection which is one of the factors causing many cases of anemia, So that interesting nutrition education is needed to intervene in providing education through learning media in more depth as an effort to reduce anemia rates. Increasing the role of Posyandu cadres in the consumption of blood added tablets (TTD) in Manggulan Village, Sleman, Yogyakarta is one of the efforts to prevent anemia as early as possible. Anemia that occurs in adolescence can continue into adulthood which can contribute greatly to maternal and infant mortality, premature birth and low birthweight. This service aims to determine the influence of health education knowledge through booklets as a medium for nutrition education on anemia prevention in adolescent girls. Method: implementation of this community service activity through a model of involvement of youth cadres and the community, using science-based methods and local cultural wisdom, community involvement approach, persuasive and educational. Conclusion: there is an influence of nutrition education through interesting and innovative media on improving nutrition health education for adolescent girls.
